It’s no secret counterfeiters and listing hijackers have been an issue for Amazon sellers for a very long time.
Do you feel that you are falling behind your competition?
What’s even more frustrating, is Amazon Seller Support rarely takes the situation seriously and never seems to help brand owners when this issue comes up. What’s worse is that as you are frantically trying to get the counterfeiter or hijacker off of your listing, they are winning the buy box and stealing your sales, potentially causing customer service issues in their wake.
Like all brands selling on Amazon, our team deals with this issue all the time too! To solve the issue, we go through a few key steps:
- Buy the counterfeit product. In order to prove to Amazon that this is truly a counterfeit product, you need to actually see it for yourself and send proof to Amazon. If you are not a brand registered seller, this is really your best bet to start the process.
- Reach out to the counterfeit seller. Like anything in life, you truly can’t get to a resolution without communicating. Our team suggests that you communicate with the other seller and prove to them that this is your brand and your product. Sometimes letting them know you are on to them is enough to get them to back down.
- If you are brand registered, use the “Report a Violation” tool. It is super simple. All you have to do is head to your Brand Registry portal and report the seller that is breaking an Amazon rule. Amazon will then research it and act accordingly.
